Zen hearbreak
The recently concluded IT fair at Suntec City left me licking the wounds of my sorry luck.
Rewind two hours before, I was busy squeezing myself past the human traffic at the IT fair with no objective to buy anything. A friend's girlfriend was working as a Zen Micro girl, which is just carrying that mp3player around, wearing short skirts and pose for pictures. They are paid a meaty share of 200dollars a day by Creative Technologies. Check that out.

You never know that winning a lucky draw is possible until you've really won it. That is true. Just except for my case. You see, I was just a hair's inch from nicking a cool 169 dollars Creative mp3player when suddenly, I was forced to answer a question for me to claim my prize.
Wait a minute, I thought usually when your name is picked up from a list of so many other names, you are already worthy of the prize. No man. I thought of those saturday nights with those econ minimart variety shows which always starred Chen Shu-cheng. Your names get picked, you answer a simple question, then you claim the prize.
My question was tough cos I did not listen to what the presenters were talking about. Everyone was trying to grab the free T-shirts and umbrellas that rained down from the stage, bias directed to the ladies. You guessed it, some lousy male presenter who think he's cute and who thinks he has sex appeal.
The crowd was selfish when I searched high and low for prompting. Bloody selfish Singaporeans. I did the wrong answer, walked off the stage in sheer disgust, collected a consolation prize. ( T-shirt that was thrown around ) That delighted the crowd cos it improved their chances slighly and by the time I left the stage, the whole crowd knew the answer. I ended up as the last person to know the answer.
I won the lucky draw but I did not take the prize home. I was quite cool with the whole thing , my friends felt sore but in the end, I was truly disappointed with people who refuse to be gracious and offer a helping hand when someone needed it most.
Count on them, Singapore!
